Nigerian singer Damilola Abdul Razaq Afolabi, popularly known as LAX, has become a major topic of discussion on social media after his lavish wedding to his longtime partner, Ella, in Lagos. The singer, who was formerly signed to Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment record label, tied the knot with his lover on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in a ceremony attended by prominent politicians, traditional rulers, business executives, and celebrities at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The wedding attracted considerable attention, with videos from the event showing several high-profile guests celebrating with the couple.
LAX and Ella had earlier held their traditional introduction ceremony in Warri, Delta State, the bride’s hometown. Their civil wedding took place in Naxxar, Malta, followed by an Islamic wedding (Nikkah) in Nigeria.
Despite the impressive turnout, one of the talking points surrounding the ceremony was the absence of LAX’s former record label boss, Wizkid.
Before the wedding, LAX had reportedly urged the Grammy-winning singer not to miss the ceremony after he was absent from the couple’s wedding activities in Malta. However, Wizkid was not spotted among the guests at the Lagos celebration.
The singer’s absence has since generated discussions online, even as videos of the lavish ceremony continue to circulate.
LAX’s wedding brought together influential figures from different sectors of Nigerian society. The singer is the son of billionaire businessman Taiwo Afolabi, chairman of SIFAX Group, a conglomerate with interests in shipping, logistics, aviation and hospitality.
LAX also serves as an executive director at SIFAX Logistics, a subsidiary of his father’s business group.
Among the prominent guests at the wedding were former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan; Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; Oba Elegushi, Saheed Ademola Elegushi; and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Oniru of Iruland, HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal (Abisogun II),
Other dignitaries included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Parallex Bank, Olufemi Bakre, and Oba Abdulrazaq Adesina Adenugba, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, Faruq Onikijipa.
The entertainment industry was also well represented, with singer Fola, rapper Blaqbonez, actress Sotayo Gaga, Eniola Badmus, Ola of Lagos, music video director Perliks, veteran singer Salawa Abeni, Wizkid’s right-hand man Femi, Priscilla Ojo, Asherkine, Seyi Vodi, Shank Comics, Do2dtun, Oxlade and Skiibii among those spotted at the celebration.
