Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has raised the alarm over the lack of emergency services following a serious road accident along the Ibadan–Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State. The actor called for urgent intervention on Friday, November 6, 2026, after witnessing the crash at Shapade, along the expressway.
According to reports surrounding the incident, the driver reportedly died at the scene, while other passengers sustained various injuries, including fractures and severe bruises.
Reacting to the incident, Kunle Afod expressed disappointment over the delayed emergency response, revealing that no ambulance or emergency rescue team arrived at the scene for about 20 minutes after the accident.
The actor said the situation was particularly concerning because the victims needed immediate medical attention.
In his words, “We witnessed a terrible accident along the Ibadan-Sagamu Expressway, and it’s so sad that for about 20 minutes, there was no ambulance or emergency service to come and help them.”
Sharing a video from the accident scene on his Instagram page, Kunle Afod appealed to the Ogun State Government, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other relevant emergency agencies to come to the victims’ rescue.
He wrote:
“🚨 URGENT SOS! EMERGENCY RESPONSE NEEDED! 🚨
“We urgently need the RESCUE TEAM to come to the aid of accident victims at Shapade, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
“There has been an accident, and immediate assistance is needed.
“Ogun State Government, FRSC, Emergency Response Teams and relevant authorities, please come to their rescue without delay.
“Lives may be at risk. Every second counts!
“Please, everyone, help share this message until the necessary authorities respond.
“GOD SAVE LIVES! 🙏.”
The actor’s appeal has also drawn attention to concerns about emergency response services and the availability of ambulances to attend to road accident victims on major highways.
