Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has stirred the internet with his latest video decrying the lack of emergency services. In a video he shared online, Afod said he witnessed an accident on the Ibadan-Shagamu expressway, and no ambulance arrived to help the victims.
Feeling duty-bound to help, Kunle took to social media to call for help, saying he had been at the accident scene for 20 minutes and no help had come.
He said no one in Ogun State was coming to rescue the victim, and all their emergency calls proved abortive.
“It is a terrible accident we met on the way along the Ibadan-Shagamu expressway. It’s so sad that, for about 20 minutes, we have been here, and no ambulance or emergency service has come to help them. We have been trying to call emergency services to come and help them. See people lying down helplessly—nobody in Ogun State has come to rescue them. Till now, we have been trying to make emergency calls, but nobody is trying to help at all. Look at them, look at the bus; nobody is even stopping to carry them. What is happening in this state?”.

Last year, while marking his 51st birthday, Afod revealed that the year had been tough and challenging. He said there was pain and agony behind his smile and laughter, yet he chose to bring joy and happiness to people.
