‘Let it go, free am abeg’: Burna Boy reacts as VDM claps back at Davido with throwback clip of singer begging woman

Grammy Award-winning singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reacted after social media activist VeryDarkMan fired back at Davido with a throwback clip allegedly showing the singer begging a woman for sex.

The development comes after Davido was spotted vibing enthusiastically to Zlatan Ibile’s verse in the song ‘Inferno’, which references VeryDarkMan and his comments about masturbation.

Recall that Entertainment Region previously reported that Zlatan Ibile, Peruzzi and Shoday released a song titled ‘Inferno’, which attracted attention online following the controversial lyrics in Zlatan’s verse directed at VeryDarkMan.

In the song, Zlatan sang, “I no be Vincent, I no dey masturbate,” referencing the activist’s real name, Martins Vincent Otse.

Davido was subsequently spotted singing along to the lyrics during a welcome party organised by Zlatan and his wife, Davita, ahead of their white wedding in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Reacting to the video, VeryDarkMan took to social media and shared a throwback clip allegedly showing Davido begging a woman. The activist also mimicked the singer by going down on his knees while making a sarcastic remark about the situation.

He said, “I no be David Adeleke wey dey beg woman. I will rather masturbate than make I kneel down dey beg woman.”

VeryDarkMan further defended his previous comments about masturbation, insisting that he had openly discussed the subject and that it was not new information about him.

The video subsequently attracted attention online, with Grammy Award-winning singer Burna Boy joining the conversation after coming across the clip shared by VeryDarkMan.

Burna Boy reacted through his football academy’s Instagram page, identified as @burnaboyfootballacademy.

In his response, the singer admitted that he did not like Davido’s attitude and character but clarified that he did not hate the “Unavailable” crooner.

Burna Boy also urged VeryDarkMan to let go of his disagreement with Davido, stressing that the ongoing exchanges should not continue to create tension on social media.

He wrote, “Vincent, as you already know, I don’t like David’s attitude and character, it is nothing to hide, but I don’t hate him either. It takes too much energy and for whatever he did to hurt me, I have left in the past because we grown men.

“I think you have vented enough about whatever misunderstanding there is, please bro, you got to let it go. I saw this and it left a bitter taste in my mouth, abeg.

“Let us keep this social space healthy for everyone. Please bro, you are doing well, life is good, abeg free am abeg.”

Burna Boy’s comment has added another dimension to the online exchange between Davido and VeryDarkMan, particularly as the singer acknowledged his differences with Davido while appealing for an end to the public back-and-forth.
