High blood pressure and blocked arteries are serious. Poor diet, smoking, too much alcohol, diabetes, obesity and ongoing stress can all raise the risk. Arteries carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body. When the vessel walls are inflamed, fatty plaque can build up and narrow the flow. That can lead to a heart attack or a stroke.
No morning drink can unclog blocked arteries or cure high blood pressure. Medicine, diet changes and a doctor’s plan do that work. Some people still drink a turmeric and vinegar mix because the ingredients are linked to general wellness, not because they clear plaque.
A common home mix uses:
1. One glass of water, about 250 ml
2. One teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
3. Half to one teaspoon of turmeric
4. A pinch of black pepper, which may help the body absorb curcumin
5. Half a lemon, squeezed
6. One teaspoon of honey, or stevia if you want less sugar
7. A small pinch of cayenne, only if your stomach can handle spice
Stir it well. You can warm the water slightly so the cayenne mixes. Start with a small amount of turmeric and see how you feel.
This drink is not a treatment. Turmeric, vinegar and cayenne can upset the stomach and may clash with blood pressure or blood-thinning medicine. If you have hypertension, diabetes or heart disease, speak to a doctor before trying it.
The habits that actually protect the heart are stopping smoking, cutting salt and fried food, moving more and taking prescribed medicine.
