‘His wife turned him against his family’: Mohbad’s father weighs in on late gospel singer Toluwanisings’ family dispute (Watch)

The father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has reacted to the ongoing family dispute surrounding the burial of gospel singer Toluwanisings, urging Nigerians to exercise caution before judging the people involved.

In a video shared by Gistloverblog, Mohbad’s father expressed sadness over Toluwanisings’ death and questioned the values parents teach their children, particularly regarding the sacrifices they make while raising their families.

He said he would not speak directly about the circumstances surrounding the late gospel singer but encouraged the public to reflect on the responsibilities children owe their parents.

Referencing one of his songs, he stressed that parents should be allowed to enjoy the rewards of their sacrifices, saying, “Let the owner of the child reap the reward of their child.”

He explained that parents endure years of struggles and make significant sacrifices to raise their children, adding that their efforts should not be overlooked when family disagreements arise.

Reacting to comparisons between Toluwanisings’ family dispute and the controversy that followed Mohbad’s death, he noted that some families face complicated situations that outsiders may not fully understand.

“Some people have compared the situation to the case of Mohbad, but there are families whose challenges are even more complicated than what happened in that case. This is why we must be careful about passing judgment on situations we do not fully understand,” he said.

He also referenced another of his songs about a father wearing rags while his child wears expensive clothes, using the lyrics to highlight the sacrifices parents make and how children may eventually come to understand them.

Speaking further, Mohbad’s father made claims about the living conditions of Toluwanisings’ father and his relationship with the late singer’s wife.

He alleged that Toluwanisings’ father paid ₦35,000 in rent while his mother-in-law lived in an air-conditioned house. He also claimed that the late singer’s wife had turned him against his family.

His comments come amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Toluwanisings’ burial and the disagreements involving members of his family, with the matter generating reactions on social media.
