Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a second term in the 2027 presidential election, citing what she described as the achievements of his administration.
The actress made this known during an interview, where she highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the major initiatives introduced under Tinubu’s government.
According to her, the student loan programme is a significant development because it gives students the opportunity to access financial support to fund their education, unlike what was available when she attended university.
Recalling her experience as a university student, Eniola Badmus said many young Nigerians in her generation were unable to pursue higher education because they could not afford the cost.
She said, “When I was in uni, I never had the opportunity of getting a student loan. So, I mean, some people in my age range were not able to go to school because they could not get student loan.”
She further described the availability of interest-free student loans as a major achievement, stressing that education remains essential to the development of the country.
“For me, that’s huge. Whether we like it or not, nobody can shy away from education. Education is key,” she added.
The actress also claimed that some students who benefit from the loan scheme do not inform their parents about it because they still want to collect financial support from them.
Speaking further about Tinubu’s administration, Badmus praised the President’s performance, mentioning the government’s tax reforms and other policies as evidence of his achievements.
“He has done so well. He has done so well. He has done so well. I don’t even know where to start from. Is it the tax reform? He has done a lot. He has done a lot,” she stated.
On the forthcoming 2027 general election, the actress expressed certainty about Tinubu’s chances of securing another term, saying she believes he will emerge victorious, all things being equal.
“All things being equal, we know that I know President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win again,” she declared.
Badmus also dismissed the idea that social media conversations determine election outcomes, arguing that political success depends largely on grassroots support.
According to her, “Politics is not on social media. It’s at the grassroots level.”
She added that Nigerians should prioritise having a leader who genuinely cares about the welfare of the people, regardless of political party affiliation.
The actress concluded by expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, praying for the country’s progress and development.
