Gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has sparked reactions online after delivering a striking ministration at the inaugural service of Pastor Jerry Eze’s new permanent church facility in Abuja on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Bassey made a surprise appearance at the grand opening of the newly completed auditorium belonging to Streams of Joy International, where a large congregation gathered to witness the historic occasion.
The atmosphere reportedly changed when the gospel minister took the microphone and began a unique vocal performance featuring intricate melodies and scales associated with Hebrew-style music.
The unusual sound caught the attention of worshippers, with some appearing surprised by the distinctive notes. Some viewers who watched the footage online also wondered whether the opening sounded Arabic, Indian or something else entirely.
However, the distinctive musical style stood out from the contemporary gospel sounds many listeners are familiar with, leaving several worshippers visibly amazed by the performance.
Videos of the ministration have since circulated on social media, drawing attention to Bassey’s vocal delivery and the atmosphere during the church’s inaugural service.
The event marked a significant milestone for Jerry Eze and Streams of Joy International as the ministry celebrated the opening of its new permanent facility in Abuja.
